Psychonauts Wii Incoming?

It was no doubt the intention of developers Double Fine Projects to cause quite a stir as they placed the above banner on their 'projects' page at their website-and it's worked. Yes that is Raz, the goggle headed hero from Psychonauts.

So what does it all mean? Well, we could leap to the Psychonauts sequel conclusion, which let's face it, would be fantastic, but alas, it is more likely that Psychonauts is headed for the Wii. Tim Schaffer (founder of Double Fine Productions) has previously gushed about the idea of a Wii outing for Raz and gang.

Whatever the case, be it Psychonauts 2, Psychonauts Wii, Psychonauts Xbox 360 or PS3, we're just glad it's Psychonauts to be honest, as it's a fantastic title. Yes we know we didn't mention Scaffer's other project 'Brutal Legend' (Xbox 360, PS3)... oh damn, I guess we did.

I love this game. I think it'll be excellent on the Wii. I'm hoping this all comes true. I think the more games that continue to be released for the Wii the better.

This game was one stranger mother on the Xbox, I hope it's a psychonauts sequel.

Tim Schafer has denied there is a new Psychonauts game coming out stating:

"There's no new Psychonauts game in the works right now, but I'm glad some people got excited by the idea. I know I got excited."

Interesting "no NEW game", we wonder what that means, perhaps Psychonauts is being ported?

Time will tell we guess, oh well, another hopeful news post dashed. You'd think with the denial they'd have removed that banner from the projects page, but it's still there at time of writing.

I just visited the official site and I think you might be onto something, that image is still there today. I'ts not like they aren't aware or it given the net being swamped with stories and their office with phonecalls. So if there's no new gaming in the offing, why haven't they taken down the image? I think they are probably going to port it, I hope it's to Wii (as I said before it would be excellent on my Wii) and even Xbox 360.

Oh come on? If there's nothing going on why is it there, they're a big company and they would have taken it off. They're up to something.
